Keep Bad News in the Dark

WEDNESDAY 6-18-08…I’m not sure why our mainstream media (conveniently) ignored this story, but it certainly needs to be told. It’s being told all over England, and tells of the official admission by the head of the World Health Organization’s department of HIV/AIDS. Dr. Kevin de Cook who heads the department says there will be no generalized epidemic of Aids in the heterosexual population outside Africa.

The epidemiologist, who has spent much of his career leading the battle against the disease says “understanding of the threat posed by the virus has changed. Whereas once it was seen as a risk to populations everywhere, it is now recognized that outside sub-Saharan Africa, it is confined to high-risk groups including men who have sex with men, injecting drug users, and sex workers (prostitutes) and their clients.”

In an interview with the UK Telegraph, Dr. De Cook says “Aids still remains the leading infectious disease challenge in public health. It is for the very, very long haul. People are now backing off saying it is taking care of itself. It is not.”

He went on to say “One of the danger areas for the Aids strategy was among men who had sex with men. We face a bit of a crisis in this area. In the industrialized world, transmission of HIV among men who have sex with other men is not declining, and in some places, has increased. It’s astonishing how badly we have done with men who have sex with men. It is something that is going to have to be discussed much more rigorously.”

Oh….wait a minute. Now I know why the story was (conveniently) ignored in this country’s mainstream press. Homosexual behavior is only allowed to be portrayed in a positive light.
