Gore is full of crap

TUESDAY 5-13-08…There are some very interesting contradictory news stories making the rounds. Al Gore says the cyclone that struck Myanmar (formerly Burma) was caused by global warming. The recent rash of shark attacks along our coast, and the coast of Florida are being blamed on global warming. Both of those stories made it into the pages of the mainstream press without any reminders that cyclones strike in that part of the world historically. Shark attacks on our coasts always make the news.

But this one from the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the National Environmental Satellite, data, and Information Service (NESDIS) did not make the news: “The average temperature in April 2008 was 51 degrees Fahrenheit. This was minus one degree Fahrenheit cooler than the 20th century average, and the 29th coolest April in 114 years.” Now, folks….that’s not from a “global warming denier”. It’s from the government’s own NOAA.

Dr. Richard Lindzen, of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology says “Data over the past two decades indicates temperatures have actually declined in the upper troposphere, even though there has been some minor upward trends in temperature at sea level. This completely contradicts conventional global warming models.”

So, why is it the media continues to preach doom and gloom on this subject, and refuses to even pretend objectivity? Meteorologist Dr. William Gray, University of Colorado says “so many people make a living off the global warming threat.” Jeanne Phillips, writing under the pseudonym “Dear Abby” (writing to a depressed reader of her column) says “the media earn their income from magnifying the tragic, the scary and anything that deviates from the norm.”

And again, quoting Dr. Gray, “Before we rearrange the political economy of the world because some scientists claim man-made CO2 the cause of climate change, it might be worthwhile for anyone taking a position on the topic to consider whether or not this is indeed “well settled science.”
