Cool-Hot Confusion

MONDAY 5-5-08…I am so confused! In reading the Chico News and Review, an article by Robert Newman, coordinator of the Chico Emergency Preparedness Expo; The headline? “Don’t Reap the Whirlwind; Be Prepared.” Okay….being prepared is the Boy Scout’s motto and I agree with that. But then, there’s this paragraph: “Emergency preparedness experts in our county say more extreme weather is on the way, probably because of global warming.”

Then, just a week ago yesterday, the Sacramento BEE ran a full page article with big headlines “It’s getting Hot. Global warming caused by carbon emissions is real, and already having disastrous effects.” It points out how Al Gore is spending three hundred million dollars in a public service effort to drive the point home.

The article was written by Al Meyerhoff, an environmental lawyer who says “It is of course, thanks to Al Gore, that except for Rush Limbaugh, few now believe global warming is a hoax.” Few now believe global warming is a hoax?? If that’s true, why is Al Gore spending $300,000,000 to convince the few that it’s real?

He should start by convincing the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. NASA has confirmed that a developing natural climate pattern will likely result in much colder temperatures. However, in an attempt to hedge it’s bet, NASA was also quick to point out that such natural phenomena shouldn’t confuse the issue of man-made global warming. In other words, greenhouse gas induced global warming will apparently be going on behind the scenes while we’re all freezing our butts off.

And, like I said at the beginning of this Tidbit……I’m so confused!
